Our client is a leading national professional services firm and one of the largest accounting, tax, and business advisory firms in Canada. With offices across the country and a strong national presence, they have established themselves as a trusted advisor to private enterprises, public companies, and organizations within the not-for-profit sector.

What Is Our Client Looking For?

Our client is seeking an Audit Manager to join their growing Assurance practice. This position is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of review and audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Oversee the end-to-end process of review and audit engagements, including planning, risk assessment, execution, supervision, and final reporting.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, communicating findings, and providing value-added recommendations to improve business processes and internal controls.
  • Ensure all engagements comply with Canadian Auditing Standards (CAS), Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE), and firm quality control procedures.
  • Stay current with changes in accounting and assurance standards, and provide technical guidance to staff and clients.
  • Develop engagement budgets, monitor progress against timelines and resources, and ensure efficient delivery of services.
  • Mentor, train, and supervise junior staff and seniors, conducting performance reviews and fostering professional growth within the team.
  • Participate in proposal development, client presentations, and networking events to support the firm’s growth initiatives.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, auditor) designation, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting, with a strong focus on review and audit engagements.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian accounting and auditing standards, tax compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience in the real estate and construction niche and/or dealership niche (an asset).
  • Bilingual in English and French (spoken & written).
  • Proficiency with audit and accounting software such as Caseware and Tax Cycle and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and client management skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and a commitment to team development.
